The 40 years old virgin!

Why was Steve Carell the best choice for this movie?
This movie was his first break-out in cinematic roles, his first reach for the stardom level. But why was he the best fitted, certainly not because he was the 40 years old virgin, he already had two kids by the time!!
It was because despite being on the show business for so long, either on The Second City stage or TV shows (mostly cancelled after few episodes), or as a TV correspondent and sometimes host on The Daily Show, he never really experienced this Hall of Fame sense in terms of being a top star, and while that to most people either happens at once or after a while, he took literally too long to reach it.
He was the 40 years old virgin to fame!
This is may be because his approach was different than most of the famous recipes at the time. He was combining wit with silliness, while most of his characters were nervous -like himself at the time- they were also pathetic in nature, and that combination was not present in the arena of movie stars!
The strength of Andy was that he was not pathetic but quiet (in a stoic way of accepting life) in a situation you would think he should be pathetic and angry!
Although this got Steve in trouble in the first few weeks of shooting the film where the producers told him that he looked like a serial killer!!!

Andy just didn’t have the experience and that’s that!
On the other hand, the story at the time was fresh and new in an atmosphere that dealt with relationships mostly as one-day night-stands until it is not! Look at the movies at the time!
So it was a new idea!
The great shift in the movie is not in Andy getting his love-life together, but the fact that he made a great impact on his friends and got them to change their way of dealing with their own love-life, taking it more sincerely and seriously.
Which stresses on the fact that being different isn’t always bad, and instead of outcasting every different character we meet in our life, we should think may be they have something to say first!

I will end this by describing the look on Andy’s face in the poster, it is one of the most insanely true and hilarious posters that you could see for a movie. You could see in Andy’s eyes hope and naivety with a bit of childishness! And then you see the title of the movie, you think this is either a pure soul or an idiot one, but that halo around his head makes you decide it is mostly the former!!

Steve Carell's personality

I have some glimpse of Steve's personality just from seeing him talking in interviews, and watching his movie choices, I kind of formed a vague idea of who he really is. He is a very private person, I don't think we will ever see the whole personality of Steve Carell just because he is so insanely-attractively hiding it! A loving doting father, a fascinated by his wife husband, a loyal person to his family and friends (just the close ones! Just kidding!), and a marvellous most versatile actor who can also play the Baritone Horn and Five , who could have possibly been a lawyer or a historian! What do you think of this picture, every bit of it is true, so he really is a nice person! Yes he is, but a nice person with an edge! He was very shy as a young gentleman around women and married his wife through agony-like courtship, with a lot of metaphorically asked questions: if I would go out with someone, it would be someone like you! And fortunately his wife s...

The Daily Show

The Daily Show played a very important part in shaping the Steve Carell we know, first off, he was called Steven before it and chose to shorten it to Steve after! He was shining in the Second City sketches and later in The Dana Carvey Show, but in the Daily Show he started to use the more subtle technique of comedy, where you use your poker face while saying the most absurd things you can figure, before that he used anger and increasing his voice pitch more, like in the Germans who say nice things! He started to master another form of comedy which is the self-tortured-whining in public kind, where he expresses all his vulnerability in front of a live audience! Also he tried a lot of different awkward situations each night, which resulted in a Michael Scott-ish situations! Here Michael Scott was born!!! As of acting, he acted hate, anger, love, but most of all self-ignorance or blindness to how he affects others thinking he is a genius while actually he is a buffoon!! He had...

The Office

Michael Scott is the heart and soul of the office! and that is apparent by the quick aching demise of the show after Steve Carell left the building!! In the first season, I wondered what an ugly, irritating , annoying, unfunny, egomaniac and self centred this boss is. I decided that may be this show was a mistake in the first place to watch.  Oh! I didn't watch it when it aired, just recently binge watched all the seasons, I was just searching for an old high rated TV show and this was the remaining one I had on a list after Cheers, Frasier etc. So I just regretted having all the seasons! Then after finishing season one achingly, I started season two just to test the waters, and thought if it is going the same way, then I will dump the rest of the episodes. Here when I saw the direction they took, they made Michael human!!! He is irritating and annoying because he can't understand others, he is self centred because he believes he is loved by those around him like ...
